Biomass resources have a characteristic called "neutral carbon" and do not increase CO2 in the air. C02 is considered as one of the gases that cause the global warming greenhouse effect. The use of biomass resources can replace fossil resources to produce energy and products, which can reduce CO2 emissions. Therefore, the strategy is to use biomass resources as a substitute for petrochemical resources in the future and as energy and products are widely used in daily life.

China has made sustainable development a national strategic goal for development. The government attaches great importance to and supports research and development and application of eco-environmental materials, namely green materials. The Chinese people passed the "Renewable Energy Law (Draft)" and "Solid Waste Law (Revised)" in 2004, and proposed suggestions on the utilization of renewable biomass energy and the promotion and application of degradable plastics.
